HISTORIC
WEAVERVILLE
The
county seat, Weaverville is an historic mining and
lumbering town that sits in a basin surrounded by
the snow-capped Trinity Alps. It is approximately
40 minutes from Hayfork along a scenic highway.
The
Jake Jackson Historical Museum
This
museum is located right in the center of the historic
district at 508 Main Street. It highlights the gold
rush days and pioneer life in Trinity County. Included
is a reconstruction of a stamp mill, a blacksmith shop,
and a miners cabin. It is open daily from 12-4:00.

Joss
House State Historical District
In
the center of town, on the corner of Main and Oregon
Street, is the oldest continuously used Chinese Temple
in California. A creek-side park surrounds the grounds
and provides a lovely place for a picnic. It is open
from 10-5:00 Wed.-Sun. Temple tours leave on the hour

Art Center
Housed
in one of Weavervilles historic homes,, this art
gallery lies within easy walking distance of the museum
and the temple at 691 Main Street.
